Photos 2018

A week before the event we dared to look at the weather forecast – it was perfect – 27 degrees and sunny – phew 🙂 And the forecast stayed that way all week so that by the time Sunday 18 November, 2018 dawned we had yet another glorious day for the 6th annual Ride to Remember Yarra Valley.

At approximately 10.30am twenty fit riders left the Wandin car park, after a briefing from Mike, to ride the 27 km to the Warburton Reserve.  Along the way they picked up marshall Malcolm and his band of 20 riders.  Further along the trail, Kirsty was marshalling the gang at Yarra Junction.   In all over 70 riders, and 1 lonely walker from Millgrove arrived at the lunch stop where a busy volley of volunteers was cooking sausages, burgers, veggie snags/burgers, gluten free sausages, cutting bread rolls, assembling salads and selling raffle tickets – thanks guys, we couldn’t do it without you!

The riders, and those who joined us for lunch, appeared to be very hungry and plates were piled high with gourmet salads and protein.  Brownies, slices, strawberries and Zooper Doopers went down a treat before Bryn said a few words in thanks, the raffle was drawn and an art auction was held – the Bidda’s were successful bidders again!

Over 20 children enjoyed their day, many of them paddling in the river to cool off before heading back to where they started – good job everyone!

We hope everyone who participated had a lovely day in the beautiful Upper Yarra Valley and we thank each and every one of you for helping us reach our fundraising goal of $36,000 in the past 6 years!

We tried to get as many people in the photos as we could and apologise if you were missed.  If  you have some photos you’d like included on the website, please email them to us at ridetoremember@outlook.com.  Enjoy!  We hope to see  you next year on Sunday 17th November, 2019.
